Hi, I’m Sue — the hands, the ideas and the slightly warped and sarcastic sense of humour behind Legally Blind & Morally Grey.

I’ve always loved beautiful things, but I’ve never been particularly interested in ordinary. Give me colour, texture, sparkle, something a little gothic, something unexpected — and preferably something that makes me laugh.

I’m legally blind, so I create a little differently. I work largely by touch, instinct and feel, finding my way through textures, shapes and details rather than relying on sight alone. It means no two handmade pieces will ever be exactly alike — and I wouldn’t want them to be.

LB & MG grew from that. It’s a place for the beautiful, the unusual, the glamorous, the reimagined and occasionally the slightly inappropriate. Some things sparkle. Some have skulls. Some have a questionable sense of humour. And somewhere in the shadows, Rook is probably causing trouble.

I don’t make things to be perfect. I make them to have personality, to be enjoyed and to feel like somebody actually made them — because somebody did.
